The Retail Scenario

    destination
  • The primary format is small shopping complexes
built by the Municipal corporation scattered
across the city . Each shop size is about 200 sq
    ft only.
  • Most of the complexes are composite developments
with retail shops on the lower levels and office
    space at the higher levels
  • Poorly developed shopping infrastructure, no
    parking facilities nor air conditioning
  • Cinema
  • The city has only five operational cinema
theatres which are in a bad state. During market
surveys a strong need for modern cinemas screens
    was felt
  • Leisure and Entertainment
  • Grossly deficient in terms of Leisure and
    entertainment options
  • Has two parks which are the only source of
leisure and recreation to the citys population
  • Also has facilities like swimming pools and clubs
but at isolated locations and not finding much
favor with the population on account of poor
    standards.
