The Homework Folder
  • The first folder will be provided by the school.
  • It is the mailbox between home and school.
  • All correspondence between home and school should
    be relayed through this folder.
  • It is checked daily at school and it should be
    emptied daily by you at home.
  • Lunch money and homework should be placed in the
    folder.
  • You may replace the folder at any time. Please
    buy a folder that has the bottom pockets. We
    make big projects in Kindergarten.

Tips for a Successful Year
  • Make sure your child is well rested.
  • Have your child eat a good breakfast so that
    he/she has energy everyday.
  • Gather school items the night before.
  • Read daily to your child.
  • Read all notices that come home in your childs
    folder and return the folder daily.
  • Volunteer in your childs classroom or in PTA
    activities.

Ideas for summer learning
  • Read!! Read!! Read!! Visit the library and/or
    join the summer reading program. Encourage you
    child to have some quiet time with books.
  • Have your child practice writing his/her first
    name using a capital first letter followed by
    lower case letters.
  • Talk with your child about everyday things and
    the special things you do together.
  • Count.
  • Draw, color, cut and paste to improve fine
    motor skills.
