The Bridge
  • Third graders come as 2nd graders and leave as
    4th graders
  • Personal Responsibility is very important this
    year. Allow your child to fail and succeed
    without your rescue.

  • 715-750 Arrival, unpack, morning duties

Attendance
  • Students need to be in the classroom before 750
  • If sick- keep your child at home, please
  • If your child is out- send an excuse when he/she
    returns. (AYP connection)
  • If out more than one day- please pick up class
    work.

Classroom Management
  • Our class-created rules are posted.
  • We have discussed and students are expected to
    follow the rules. When students follow the rules
    they earn
  • Class money

Class Store
  • Students that follow the class rules, listen
    follow directions, complete class and homework
    assignments, use time wisely, and serve as role
    models for others will earn class money
  • Students shop and work at store practicing math
    and economic skills.
  • Students will create and run their own
    business. This will take place once a quarter

Homework
  • Homework will be given nightly. Students will
    always have a chance to begin it in class. If
    they use time wisely, most should finish by the
    end of the day. Check website and agenda each
    night for assignments.

  • Parents- Please check the agenda each day
  • Write or attach any notes.
  • Have your child assume this responsibility ?

Notes from the Office
  • Early Dismissal ends at 2pm. If a parent needs to
    sign a student out prior to dismissal, they must
    do so by 150.
  • Dismissal changes must be in writing and cannot
    be taken over the phone, email, or text unless it
    is a change for the student to remain at school.
  • Monies sent in must be in the white Cobb County
    envelopes and filled in completely.

House Keeping
  • Car Riders vs. Walkers (please do not park and
    walk in to get your children, please use the car
    line if you are driving to pick up your students)
  • Walkers will now gather on the Kindergarten
    playground in the afternoons (beginning next
    week), it is getting too crowded with the bus
    riders and daycare
  • Please do not drive into the bus port to drop
    off students in the mornings (walkers are fine)
  • After 245, students/parents cannot return to the
    classrooms
  • Writing Lab
  • Super Specials/Calendar Rotation

  • Because I need to be available to the students
    and mornings can be hectic, please send a note or
    an email if you need to communicate in the
    morning. I am available most afternoons (with
    advance notice) and anytime via email.
