2Who is AriSEIA ?
AriSEIA is the Arizona chapter of the Solar
Energy Industries Association based in Washington
DC. We work to expand markets, strengthen
research and development, remove market barriers
and improve education and outreach for solar
energy industry in Arizona. Through SEIA we have
have representation and a voice in the solar
industry at the national level
3Who are our members.
- Our members companies are involved in the sales,
installation, manufacturing of solar electric and
solar thermal systems. - Members also include architects, engineers,
utilities and others who are involved in the
solar industry.

19The Arizona Solar Roadmap.a look back
Long before other solar roadmaps were developed,
AriSEIA was working on a Solar Plan for
Arizona.. This plan included creating an
incentive structure, eliminating roadblocks, and
in general promoting greater use of solar energy
in Arizona.
20.Legislative Accomplishments
Sales tax exemption Residential Solar Tax Credit
Property tax exemptions Commercial tax
credit Solar Rights for Homeowners
21Regulatory Affairs
Deregulation the Solar Portfolio
Standard Environmental Portfolio
Standard Renewable Energy Standard Tariff
22Solar Rights for Homeowners
Legislation - strengthen Arizona's existing
statute Education - outreach to HOAs and those
who manage them. Litigation- - find homeowners
will install solar and allow themselves to be
sued by their HOA
23Combined Incentive Structure Creates the Market
- Arizona Residential Commercial Tax Credits
- Federal ITC
- Utility Programs under the Renewable Energy
Standard and Tariff. (REST)
24Economic Development Benefits
- Creates jobs in a variety of sectors.
- Money saved is kept in our community - 2.8
million saved by Arizona families monthly equals
4.67 million in economic development benefits. - Increased property values for Arizona
homeowners and businesses. - Potential export market
-
25Air Quality Benefits
Pollution free electricity water heating. One
solar water heating system avoids the equivalent
emissions of driving 6,540 miles, a 3 KW PV
avoids the emissions of 9,369 miles of
driving. The average solar swimming pool heating
system avoids the production of 10,000 pounds of
emissions.
