Baie Ternay Marine National park is situated on
the Mahe island next to the Baie Beau Vallon.

The unique park combines mangrove trees, rocky
and sandy beaches, coral reefs and varied ocean
fauna - turtles, catfishes, moray, dolphins and
even whale sharks.

Its a perfect place to spot passing whale sharks
between August and October.

Flora of Baie Ternay
Baie Ternay is one of three beaches with the
highest coral diversity.

Fauna of Baie Ternay
A number of species of the shark and ray family
can be easily sighted in the waters. The beach is
home to the endangered hawksbill turtle, a
habitat for foraging juvenile turtles.

Whale sharks regularly arrive at this time of the
year to feed on the lush plankton known to
accumulate here.

The large and spacious white sandy beaches of
Baie Ternay are another good reason to visit this
part of Mahe.
