Current Status
Chart 1
The market size of the Japanese security industry
has been increasing over the years. The overall
market (Chart 1) includes the sales and
installation of security equipment and security
services, such as guards. The total sales
figures do not show a sharp increase as unit
prices in general have decreased over the past
few years due to stronger competition in the
market. In security service contracts, there has
been a tremendous increase (Chart 2). According
to the National Police Agency the total sales of
security service alone amounts to US 27 billion.
